Center for a Competitive Workforce (CCW)
CCW is focused on institutionalizing the regular engagement of the 19 community colleges in the LA region and employers from high-growth industry sectors with projected growth of middle skill jobs. Mostly taking place at the 200-acre Douglas Park, this commitment to human progress is setting Long Beach up as a bastion for aerospace, satellites, and space travel. CSULB projects the initiative will produce some 15,000 degreed or certified engineering professionals, transforming the economic landscape, workforce pipeline, and interdisciplinary opportunities.

Mobile Homeless Connect
Led by Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH), six state agencies worked alongside LA county government and CBOs to bring state and local services directly to individuals experiencing homelessness, where they are. The three-day pilot project provided over 100 people at five sites access to an estimated 260 state and local benefits or services. This project will provide recommendations for replication across CA.

Destination Crenshaw
Destination Crenshaw
Emerging from the LA Metro Rail extension connecting LAX to Central LA, Destination Crenshaw is a new place-based project that will transform Crenshaw Boulevard into a 1.3 mile-long open-air museum, showcasing the longstanding and continued economic and cultural impact of the Black community in LA. The plan highlights 800 trees to be planted, over 100 local artists to be commissioned with their art installations to match, and a commitment to hiring and supporting the local workforce and business ecosystem.
