F3 - Fresno-Merced Future of Food
The F3 coalition, led by the Central Valley Community Foundation, will receive $65.1M to accelerate the integration of technology and skills in the region’s agriculture industryΓÇöimproving productivity and job quality for existing farmworkers, while driving a more resilient and sustainable food system. The coalition unites partners such as UC-Merced, the California Farmworkers Foundation, industry leadership, and local government around a vision for a more innovative, equitable, and resilient agricultural .

Built 4 Scale
Built 4 Scale, an ambitious workforce development program led by Fresno County EDC, has received $23M to create apprenticeship and training programs for 2,500 residents in Fresno, Kings, Madera, and Tulare Counties. This project aims to bolster and diversify an economy still dominant in agriculture by placing residents into high-quality jobs in high growth industries, including manufacturing, transportation, and construction.

The first-ever viticulture class at Madera Community College was held in Spring 2022! Viticulture is a major industry in the region that contributes $57.6 billion to the State’s economy. Madera Community College designed this innovative program to grow and develop student talent to meet regional needs and create new work opportunities.

In 2022, the Central Valley Empowerment Alliance’s Youth Leadership Center held a grand opening of a new youth center – ΓÇ£Lupe’s Promise”. The Youth Center is in memory of Lupe Martinez, a 17 year old who touched the community with her life ΓÇö and her death. This Center offers youth services to the City of Poplar and surrounding community, so that they too have the ability to dream and thrive.

The Colonel Allensworth State Park recieved $28M for the construction of a new visitor center and interpretive enhancements. The new visitor center will better tell the story of California’s first all-Black community and the contributions of its founders and members.

The SJV Partnership provides an organizational framework for collaboration as a way to improve quality of life in the San Joaquin Valley. This regional collaboration convenes regional working groups in topics including broadband, energy, higher education, and sustainable communities to create a propserous economy, quality environment and social equity.
